Now, she is one of the most provocative performers in the world of pop, sporting typically sexy dresses on tour. In the year 2001, Katy Perry was just a shy seventeen year old attempting to make it as a singer on Christian rock event.
In a recent previously unreleased video, a young Katy can be seen being interviewed by Jim Standridge, a cameraman, who had been commissioned by Katy's then record label to do a little documentary of the star.
Unlike the confident Katy that we know, Katy, in the video, is seen looking very nervous as she plays with her hair when she talks about her stage fright. She also added that she puts on a lot of make up before the show, because she is a pizza face.
The little interview is inter-cut with stage gigs that showed Katy singing and playing guitar with a drummer as back-up on stage. At one point during the interview, Perry is seen getting discomposed when she confessed that she missed parents.
Speaking about the video, Jim Standridge stated that the other day he was cleaning out some old footage in his office and he found 90 minutes of raw footage he had totally forgot about. He added that he readily put together a short edit of the experience with Perry. It was funny that she spent so much time messing with her hair. He also believes that Katy has grown into an amazing entertainer.
